On the 20th of March 2022, a couple of beautiful Sunday’s ago, 6 ordinands has reached a new milestone in
their journey to becoming a future priest. The six ordinands were ordained to the diaconate by The Right
Revd. Datuk Danald Jute during a special ordination service.
There were over 200 congregations made of friends & families in attendance for the ordination ceremony,
which was held at the St. Thomas’ Cathedral, Kuching. Bishop Nelson preached a meaningful sermon on
God’s calling for the church as a whole – not only the clergy; to serve in various capacities in His vineyard.
He also emphasised on the importance in knowing who is calling us.
Post the ordination service, we had the chance to asked a few of the newly ordained deacons on what are
their hopes for the church & what does being a deacon means to them.
