Diocesan Women’s Fellowship

23rd Diocesan Women’s Fellowship Biennial Assembly was held at the Mega Hotel Miri from 31st August – 3rd September, organised by the WF branches of the Northern Archdeaconry. The assembly inaugurated with a grand opening of the procession by the chairladies from all branches in the Diocese of Kuching.
The theme for the 23rd Biennial Assembly is taken from Proverbs 16.3 ‘Becoming A Woman of Intention’

The two speakers who were invited to the assembly were Canon Bradley Sangan and Revd. Stanley Bunseng.

The Diocesan Women’s Fellowship hosted a Mother’s Day Celebration and Fundraising Dinner at the Christian Ecumenical Centre on May 6, 2023. The dinner was attended by YB Datuk Showdan Lawan, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak and Ybhg Datin Melinda Claudia Bucking. The opening performance was performed by the DWF Board, LSA, and USA committees. They performed “We Are Women of Faith”. LSA Women’s Fellowship performed a dance with the title ‘Dia Lahir Untuk Kami’, while USA Women’s Fellowship performed a dance with the title ‘Tuhan Yesus Baik’.

19th Diocesan Women’s fellowship Biennial Assembly

Held at the Kingwood Hotel Sibu from 7th – 9th August, organised by the WF branches of the Central Archdeaconry (Zone 2)

Theme : Go Forward (Exodus 14:15)

Speaker: Revd Donald Jute, Vicar of the Parish of Good Shepherd, Lutong

Attended by close to 500 delegates & observers from all WF branches from throughout the Diocese. The Archbishop had a session with clergy wives and graced the closing dinner which saw the inter-zone dance competition as its highlight. The WF of St Thomas’s Bintulu was champion & WF of the Parish of Good Shepherd Lutong was runners-up. 6 teams competed, 2 from each zone. (The DWF is divided into 3 zones for more effective monitoring and management)
